Clobetasol Propionate and Salicylic Acid Ointment is used to treat moderate to severe scalp psoriasis. Clobetasol reduces the swelling, itching and redness that can occur with this condition. This medication is a very strong corticosteroid. Topical salicylic acid is also used to treat skin conditions that involve scaling or overgrowth of skin cells. Clobetasol Propionate and Salicylic Acid Ointment is not recommended for use in children or those less than 18 years of age.
